Pivotal Practice Award
April 2022 - This week, Channel Islands High School was named a 2022 California Pivotal Practice Award program winner by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. The 2022 California Pivotal Practice Award Program, or CAPP, temporarily replaced the California Distinguished Schools Program. Three schools were honored in Ventura County, Channel Islands High School proudly stands as the only high school with this honor.
This honor recognizes and celebrates Channel Islands High School as a school that implemented innovative practices during the 2020–21 school year. It represents the hard work that our teachers, counselors, paraeducators, administrators, and classified teams have done to create innovative systems of support for our Raiders.
Channel Island High School came together, developed solutions and worked collaboratively to ensure students were holistically supported and learning during the pandemic. Such a distinctive honor and one that is well deserved.
