CIHS Weekly Update 9.7.18

2018-2019 Staff Welcome

The beginning of the school year began with an introduction and welcome by Principal Roger Adams.  The emphasis was based on the school’s vision, goals, and personal “why’s” shared by all members of the Channel Islands High School Community.  Along with taking a staff photo, staff members received professional development around:

  • PBIS
  • Mandated Reporter Training facilitated by Roger Adams
  • Getting Google-ey with Mrs. Shannon Scott
  • School Safety and Security with Mr. Ortiz and SRO Ryan Carey

Counseling Corner

The counseling department has been extremely busy making sure students are properly enrolled in courses. They have been working tirelessly on balancing teachers and classes. Currently, the counselors have been working through countless schedule change request and/or level change forms which have been submitted by students and teachers. Being that Seniors are beginning their final year of high school, counselors are meticulously looking over each and every one of their Seniors’ transcripts to ensure that every one is on track for graduation.
