Adult Transition Graduation

On Thurday, June 6, 2018 Adult Transition held their Graduation. Our graduation wouldn’t have been possible without your help. I’d like to thank the administrators for supporting us, and ASB for bringing their decorations, equipment, senior goodie bags, school spirit, and LOVE. We extend a heartfelt thanks to Brett for his ASB leadership and fostering our relationship with the DJ who graciously DJ’d for us several times this year. We all had a great time at the graduation and dance. Thank you for maintaining a consistent and positive relationship with our program throughout the years. We appreciate you!

Selena’s sister Jennifer, a CI senior on her way to UC Davis, was one of the students receiving scholarships. The reception was held at the Ventura County Office of Education in Camarillo.

Julius Caesar Performances

Ms. Pidduck’s classes had Live Performances with creative costumes and props on the stage in the Quad. Incredible Performances by amazing students! Thank you, Dr. Senesac, Mr. Martin, Mr. Z, Mr. Haynes, Mrs. Sanchez, Mrs. Ipatzi, Antoine and Pete for being out there to give our hardworking kids a round of applause!

Sports Banquet

This Tuesday, Channel Islands Athletics had its annual spring sports banquet.  Athletics thanked two very important staff members, Susie Robles and Darlene Johnson, for their hard work and dedication to our student athletes and coaches.  Also, athletics thanked Coach Robert Rada for his 34 years of service to Channel Islands High School as a teacher and coach.  His positivity and humor will be missed.

Spring sports overall did well.  Boys Volleyball went to CIF for its third consecutive year.  Track and Field sent 15 athletes to CIF, with the boys attaining its first Pacific View League Championship.  Girls and Boys swim had some record breakers not only in times, but in team size.  Coaches Carly Jones and Sazil Sanchez hopes to continue this wave to next year. Tennis, golf, softball and baseball were competitive, with tennis only a couple swings away from going to CIF.

MVP’s were also awarded.  Each coach thanked and awarded each athlete listed below:

Girls Track and Field: Dominique Davis

Boys Track and Field: Jamar Sims-Drummonds

Boys Volleyball- Patrick Manansala

Girls Swim: Leslie Cortes

Boys Swim: Martin Medina

Baseball:  Pedro Marmolejo and Gabriel Landeros

Thank you to everyone for their support this year! GO RAIDERS.
