AP European History students visit the Getty Museum
On September 26th Mr. Bankert’s AP European History class, along with Mr. Minkel and Elba Reyes, went to the Getty Museum. The class went on a tour of Golden Kingdoms: Luxury and Legacy in the Ancient Americas. The students participated in a lesson provided by the docents about treasures of the Mesoamerican Empires of the Inca, Maya, and Aztecs. The students and the chaperones were also able to see Renaissance and other European art that is covered in the AP course. Some of the artists of note represented at the museum were Rembrandt, Monet, and Van Gogh’s Irises. The students enjoyed their lunch provided by the cafeteria in the Mediterranean style veranda in the sun overlooking the skyline of Los Angeles.
