CIHS Updates – 09.15.17

Back to School Night

Channel Islands High School appreciates everyone who came together to make the CIHS 2017 Back to School Night (BTSN) a success. We had the honor of hosting our Superintendent – Dr. DeLeon, Assistant Superintendent Dr. McCoy, and Board Member Wayne Edmonds and all of our staff including our Principal Dr. Senesac, Assistant Principals, teachers, counselors, security, staff, maintenance, parents and PFSO members in attendance.
Mr. Zielsdorf and his ASB students had the gymnasium prepared for our first rally and BTSN with the theme of Harry Potter, making it look magical.  The Cheer team had a great spirit and big smiles as they handed out the programs. Mr. Teruel and his band welcomed everyone in the gym with a tsunami of sounds.  ASB President Vernadette Laderas guided us in the Pledge of Allegiance and thanked all the parents for taking the time out of their busy day to be present with faculty and staff. Parents and their family members heard the Principal’s Address and were entertained with the performances by the squads CIHS Drill and Drumline.  PFSO President Hilda Reyes and Vice President Mirita Shuman delivered their message to the parents and encouraged more participation by all.
After the gym presentations, teachers met with parents in their classrooms, counselors in the career center and office staff assisted parents with class schedules and questions while the administration visited all classrooms and clubs provided us with food throughout the evening.
We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who was present last night!
