Channel Islands Heritage Society
The Channel Islands High School Heritage Society is calling for all interested alumni and community members to get involved and support our efforts. As you know, the CIHS Heritage Society is dedicated to focusing on celebrating the successes of our past and our present. We will be bringing back the banners celebrating the athletic, academic and performing arts achievements of our former Raiders from the first day this school opened to today. At this time, we are appealing to all students, parents, staff, alumni and the community to join us in raising the funds necessary to recognize and celebrate past and present achievements through banners and trophies, as well as provide Alumni Recognition events and support the academic, athletic and artistic endeavors of our current students.
We are proposing a “Five for CI” donation of at least Five Dollars ($5.00) from all alumni, current students, staff, parents, and community members. If every person whose life was affected or influenced by their years or connection with Channel Islands High School would donate just Five Dollars ($5.00), we would be able to bring back the banners and trophies of the past, honoring our significant past, while also providing funds for our athletic programs, academic competition programs, and artistic programs to compete and participate in a variety of activities not always supported. Currently, many of our programs, including athletics, academic groups, and artistic groups, must fundraise in order to fully participate in additional competitions beyond the local level. We want to ensure that our students can participate to the fullest extent without always having to raise funds in order to support their efforts.
Your Five Dollar ($5.00) contribution will help our Channel Island High School students continue the success CI enjoyed over the past 43 years.
Channel Islands High School was once the number one school in the community and in the Oxnard Union High School District. It is our intention to once again claim that title!! And as we believe “Once a Raider, Always a Raider,” we know that everyone interested in the Heritage Society can and will donate at least Five Dollars ($5.00); hence, the “Five for CI” promotion.
Please help us bring back the tangible memories of the heritage established by Channel Islands High School. We must engage our students and share with them the rich, substantial history of Channel Islands High School. The study of the past guides us in our quest to create a better future. Our students need to know the history of Channel Islands High School and they need to know that we will ALWAYS care about, celebrate and recognize their successes here at the Islands. I believe by promoting this celebratory attitude and culture, we will create and foster success in all areas – academics, athletics, and the arts.
