About the Math Department
The Math Department at Channel Islands High School prides itself on each member's willingness to take responsibility for what matters to them- both the overall and mathematical success of every student. This is evidenced by:
- Members meet regularly and plan lessons, design tests and analyze data for common courses.
- Members are proactive in working with the Counseling Department to make sure each student is placed a class to ensure thier greatest mathematical success.
- Members work closely with the district office to select appropriate textbooks, map out pacing calendars and contribute to the design of Benchmark Exams.
- Members actively pursue staff development opportunities to improve best teaching practices and creative lessons then they share them with one another.
- Members of the department trust, respect and support each other as a team of professionals.
