Freshmen and sophomores!!  California Lutheran University Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science Programs are now accepting new students for the 2015-2016 school year.

Both of the Upward Bound Programs are targeted to help first-generation (students whose parents did not graduate from a U.S. 4-year institution) and income-qualifying students to pursue higher education.   The programs are housed at CLU and their program is FREE and offers a 5 week summer program, where students live on campus in dorms, college tours and planning, financial aid help and much more!

The Upward Bound Math/Science Program is specifically targeted for students who are interested in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields.

For more information or a Pre-Screening form, see Mrs. McDevitt in the counseling office (or attached to this email).

The deadline is Friday Feb 27, 2015.  However, get your forms in quickly, as space is limited and many students apply.  The sooner you turn in your application, the better!

Applications do not need to be sent to CLU, students can turn in their application to Ms. McDevitt, and she will forward to CLU.

Juniors or Seniors who would like to explore the field of engineering, and who are currently enrolled in Calculus, Pre-Calc, Chem AP or Physics, are invited to apply for the very popular after school Pre-Engineering Program at the Port Hueneme Base. The program takes place on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30pm and will begin again semester 2. 2.5 credits will be earned, but you must be able to provide your own transportation. If interested, please pick up an application from Ms. Koreisz or Mr. Lara in the main office. Applications are due on Wednesday, January 15th.

Please check your “CIHS EMAIL”, as well as your “STUDENT VUE” account. Our staff or counselors may be sending you UPDATES on great opportunities as well as important information which may affect your graduation. RAIDERS ROCK!!!……..Your CIHS Counselors****Bookkeeper News****
